Lucy has practised in the field of Intellectual Property since 1997, working primarily in the life sciences sector. She possesses a wealth of global patent experience that covers the lifespan of a patent including drafting, prosecuting, litigating and business development activities, and she has worked on numerous early programs right through to key “on-market” products.
Lucy’s outlook is truly global - she lived and worked for 4 years in Massachusetts qualifying and practising as a US Patent Agent during her stay, and has been responsible for the IP portfolio of a major R&D hub in Shanghai. Lucy has extensive knowledge of the patent systems of other countries and jurisdictions. Prior to establishing Alembia, Lucy was responsible for the IP arising from the oncology business unit of one of the UK’s biggest pharmaceutical companies and managed the team of attorneys delivering it.
Lucy's clients include large multinational corporations, venture capitalists, international mid-sized life-science companies, start-ups and individual inventors, covering a range of technologies from pharma and animal health, to agriculture and footwear. Nonny has practiced in the field of Intellectual Property since 2010, working primarily in the life sciences sector. He has experience of working in multiple therapeutic areas across all stages of the drug development chain, managing the IP of high priority cross-company assets and defending marketed drugs during litigation. He has an excellent knowledge of patent law in other countries and jurisdictions, and has used his skills to support companies all over the world, including Japan and China.
Nonny is highly experienced in different types of agreements, licensing and business development work, and has helped in- and out- license technology from many different companies. He also has a wealth of experience of patent drafting and prosecution, crafting patent portfolios to fit diverse business needs. He excels at explaining complex IP matters and their commercial impact to non-attorneys. Prior to establishing Alembia and beginning his career in intellectual property, Nonny built an impressive chemistry background in both academia and industry, contributing to numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles.
